T2MTU: Duplicate and “Open in New Window” in Chrome

In this week’s tutorial, I’m going to show you two of my most used web browser tricks: “Open link in a new tab” and “Duplicate.”

I use these techniques often in Canvas and Prodigy because they allow me to navigate back to previous pages more easily.

Watch the video below or scroll down for more information!

Duplicate a Tab

To duplicate a tab in Chrome, right-click on the tab title and select “Duplicate.”

This will create an additional tab with the existing web address.

To Open a Link in a New Tab

Right-click on the link you would like to open and select “Open link in new tab” (or one of the other options available as shown).

This will open the new link in a different tab (or window), but leave the first page open.

This is especially helpful when you are working through a list of courses or links. Check out the video for more examples and use cases.
