T2MTU: Create a Song about a Lesson Topic in Minutes!

by Amanda Dills

With new AI-powered tools, you do not have to be musical to create original songs focused on your class content. With Suno.ai, teachers can easily create songs to help students memorize tricky concepts, and students can create a song as a final project to demonstrate what they’ve learned.

Click on the video below to watch Suno.ai in action, or keep scrolling for more information.

And here is the song that was created! (Video downloaded directly from Suno and uploaded onto this webpage)

Creating Custom Songs with Suno

Step 1: Visit https://suno.com/ and sign up for a free account.

Step 2: Create a song and turn on “custom mode” to be able to add your own lyrics. Paste your lyrics (I created mine with ChatGPT) into the Lyrics box.

Step 3: Add a “Style of Music” and a “Song Title” as requested. (I used ChatGPT to help me come up with these too, but you can pick your own or use the “Random” generators as well.)

Step 4: Click “Create” and wait for your 2 song options to be created. You can download audio or video, or grab the link to any song to share it via email or in Canvas.

(Ex: Here is the link to the Lost in the Limbic song I created in the video above.)

In this summer’s “Creative Classroom Creations” workshop, I’ll be going into this process in even more detail, helping you combine multiple song creations into a full song, giving you some specific prompts to use to create quality lyrics, creating custom album art with Canva, and showing you alternative ways to share the music you create.
