Retrieving Student Login Info
As an instructor, you will likely need to provide your new students with usernames and passwords, both for their email and for Canvas (and FT computers). There are several ways to do this.
Option 1: Canvas Username & Password Reset
If the student has been enrolled in your Canvas course, you can find their username on the People page of your course. Student usernames are in this format: ab1234567. Once you have the username, the students can reset their passwords using the steps found here.
Option 2: The Zone (Email and System Password list)
If you are on your instructor station computer (likely in your office on campus), you can visit the Zone and retrieve login information for both email and Canvas for your students.
- Visit https://zone.francistuttle.edu or click on the Zone shortcut on your computer desktop.
(If you see the “We’re Sorry” message, click on “Employees” in the upper left hand corner.)
2. Scroll down and click the item “Student Email Access and Credential Report,” and follow the prompts to run a report list of all your students’ usernames and passwords.
Option 3: Run Canvas Password Reports by Section using InfoCentral
Another option you have while on your instructor station computer is using InfoCentral to pull a list of your students’ Canvas passwords. To do this, you will need to know the synonym number of the specific section(s) for which you need login information. (You can use either your attendance or coursework section number.)

Note: If you receive an error that the Crystal Viewer isn’t working, first close all of your computer browsers. Then, go to “Zenworks” on your FT computer (type Zen in the search bar on the bottom left of your PC computer if you don’t see it), and then double click on the Crystal XI Active X icon. This should resolve the issue.
If you are still unable to access InfoCentral, contact ITS.
Option 4: Contact ID3
If you are unable to retrieve a list of your students’ passwords via any of the means listed above, you can contact ID3 and request that we pull this list for you. To do this, we will need to know the section numbers of the course sections you need login information for.
