Edit Account Notification Settings

1. Verify Contact Methods
The first step in editing your notification settings is to verify your contact methods.
- Go to your account settings page by clicking on Account, then Settings.
- In the upper right part of the page your contact methods are listed. To add an email address select the + Email Address link.
3. Enter your email address and click on Register Email.
4. A confirmation will appear. To finish registering your email you will need to look for an email containing a confirmation link.
5. To add a cell number to receive text notifications, click on + Contact Method.
6. Enter your cell phone number, select your carrier, then click Register SMS
7. A confirmation will appear. Enter the confirmation sent to your phone and click on Confirm.
2. Set Notification Preferences
Once you have verified your contact methods, you can set your notification preferences.
- Go to your notification settings page by clicking on Account, then Notifications. You will see a list of Course Activities for which you can set notifications. To the right of these will be a column for each of your contact methods. In each column, the icons represent your current settings for a given activity.
2. Place your cursor on any activity name for additional details about notifications for that activity.
3. To change a setting, click on an icon and choose one of the options: Notify Immediately, Daily Summary, Weekly Summary, or Notifications Off. (Note: certain activities will not have all of these options.)
When changing the default settings by setting your own notification preferences. These preferences only apply to you; they are not used to control how course updates are sent to other users.
