Creating a New Module
What is a Module?
Modules allow instructors to organize content to help control the flow of the course. They are used to organize course content by weeks, units, or a different organizational structure. Modules create a one-directional linear flow of what students should do in a course. Each module can contain files, discussions, assignments, quizzes, and other learning materials.
Steps to creating a module:
1. Find and enter the course in which you would like to create a new module.
2. Select “Modules” in the left-hand menu.

3. Select “+ Module”.

4. Name your Module in the “Module Name” field.

5. Check the box “Lock until” if you want to make the module unavailable to your students at first. Then, select the calendar icon to select a date and time in which you’d like to make the Module available for students to view.

6. If you’d like to force your students to complete a previous module before starting the current one, select “+ Add prerequisite” and choose the module from the drop-down list that you’d like them to complete first.

7. Select “Add Module”.

Your new module is now created and ready for content.
